Canning House organises event in UK Parliament to discuss the crisis in Venezuela

On Monday 11 February Canning House, in collaboration with the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Latin America, invited Members of the Commons and Lords and the general public to listen to a panel discussion about the crisis in Venezuela.
Meeting with Daniel Quintero

Earlier today, Canning House had the pleasure of meeting with Daniel Quintero, former Vice Minister of Digital Economy of Colombia and a mayoral candidate for the city of Medellín. Mr Quintero is in London as part of his Innovation Tour – aimed at identifying creative solutions for cities.
Canning House participates in UK-Brazil Conversa 4

Cristina Cortes, CEO of Canning House, was delighted to participate in the fourth UK-Brazil Conversa in São Paulo from 1-2 February 2019.
Conversa is a forum for discussions between Brazilian and British businesspeople, policymakers, educationists and others, to explore how to make more of the relations and contacts between Brazil and the UK.

On Tuesday 29th January Cristina Cortes, CEO of Canning House, and Anthony Pereira, Director of the King’s Brazil Institute, gave evidence to the Foreign Affairs Committee on the political and economic developments in Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

On 23 January, Juan Guaidó, the president of Venezuela’s National Assembly (AN), formally declared himself to be the country’s interim president and said that he will now seek to organise a new general election process to elect a successor to the de facto president, Nicolás Maduro.
