Canning House is delighted to welcome Argentina's Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Renato Carlos Sersale de Cerisano, to give a round-table briefing on Argentina's politics, economy and business climate. Two years into the Mauricio Macri presidency, which has sought to open up the country's economy and alleviate its economic woes, this briefing will assess how things are going.

Mexico's energy sector is open for business. It will focus on the Mexican Energy Reform and the opportunities it brings to UK companies.

The next Canning Paper will focus on the predicament currently affecting Venezuela, taking an in-depth analysis of the country’s economy, and political and social situation. The paper will also consider potential scenarios and implications such as how the policies currently being pursued by the radical leftist PSUV faction will pan out; factional infighting within the PSUV; and opposition winning power –either as a result of a military coup or by electoral means in the December 2018 election.

Twenty-five years ago, with the signing of the Peace Accords, El Salvador ended a protracted internal conflict and set in place the institutional architecture needed to build a sustained peace.  To reflect on the legacy of the Agreements, and looking ahead to the future, a panel of five young Salvadorans will share their visions for the way forward.
