Canning House is collaborating with the British Embassy Brasilia and the Brazil Institute at King's College London for the fourth instalment of a series of events on best legislative practices in Brazil, as the country prepares for a presidential election at the end of this year. The event will consist of two panels followed by a Q&A, and will include the participation of researchers from the Brazilian National Congress.

‘Why does Latin America matter?’ asks The Royal Institute Elcano, a leading Spanish International Relations think-tank, in its latest report. Targeting European institutions, governments, media and public opinion, the paper aims to paint a complete picture of Latin America, the opportunities that it offers and its place in the world, outlining why a closer bilateral relationship with the EU would benefit both regions on a number of levels. As the future of the United States’ relationship with its southern neighbours hangs in the air, and as the UK prepares to leave the European Union, Elcano’s paper explains why Latin America is and will continue to be a relevant partner for Europe.
