Roundtable

Harnessing CPTPP: Dan Carden MP and Matt Davies

  • June
  • London

Canning House and the Department for Business and Trade are convening a roundtable to analyse the latest developments in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Canning House and the Department for Business and Trade are convening a roundtable with Dan Carden MP, the UK Trade Envoy for Mexico, and Matt Davies, the UK Chief Negotiator for CPTPP.

We will discuss the current state of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), following Mexico’s formal ratification of the UK's accession, which will enter into force between the UK and Mexico on June 22, 2026,  and the conclusion of negotiations with Costa Rica, paving the way for them to join CPTPP potentially as early as next year.

This roundtable will bring together two key figures from the UK Government's CPTPP team and business representatives to discuss how the partnership affects different sectors and supply chains, and identify possible challenges and risks from the CPTPP's expansion.
