Canning House is hosting a Business Breakfast with the Governor of the Colombian Central Bank (Banco de la República), Leonardo Villar.

This will be a valuable opportunity to join an in-depth conversation about the state of Colombia's public finances and the economic expectations for 2026.

Leonardo Villar has been the Governor of the Colombian Central Bank since January 2021. Previously, Mr. Villar was Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and four Central American countries - Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras. The Governor has extensive experience in the public sector and has published and taught at universities on macroeconomics, social policy, foreign trade, and financial and foreign exchange policy. He holds an MSc from the London School of Economics (LSE), where he also pursued doctoral studies.
