The Energy Transition

The energy transition is a global phenomenon with growing momentum, but the challenges are immense, and not just technological. As the World Economic Forum (WEF) has argued, the energy transition will succeed only if it can simultaneously deliver energy security and access while enabling economic growth. That challenge has been amplified by the need to rebuild economies ravaged by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. This report assesses the progress to date of the energy transition in Latin America, and its prospects.
