To commemorate 75 years, to the day, since the inauguration of Canning House, a wreath laying ceremony was held at the statue of George Canning in Parliament Square.

The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Iván Romero-Martínez, Ambassador of Honduras and Dean of GRULA, and The Lord Mountevans, Honorary President of Canning House.

It was a great honour to have Latin American and Iberian Ambassadors and Embassy Representatives in attendance, alongside Canning House’s Honorary Vice-Presidents, Trustees, longstanding supporters from the Foreign Office and staff members.

Following the ceremony, Canning House Honorary Vice-President Lord Brennan QC kindly hosted a coffee reception in the House of Lords. The distinguished guests spoke of the key role Canning House has played in honouring George Canning’s legacy, and the continuing relevance of its mission to bring the UK, Latin America and Iberia closer together.
