Jeremy Browne, CEO of Canning House, opened proceedings with words of welcome and an appreciation of the success of the Dominican Republic's economy - the 7th largest in Latin America by GDP (PPP).

He was followed by remarks from both HE Ambassador Elnio Durán and HE Ambassador Mockbul Ali OBE, the respective Dominican and British Ambassadors in London and Santo Domingo.

The morning session then saw presentations by Biviana Riveiro Disla from PRODOMINICANA, on the Dominican Republic's varied and vibrant imports and exports, and a presentation from Banco Popular Dominicano of a new book showcasing the country's creative economy.

After lunch, attendees watched a virtual address from Victor -Ito- Bisonó, Minister for Industry and Trade of the Dominican Republic, on the country's strategy for its creative economy. This was followed by a conversation between Marianna Vargas Gurilieva from the Dominican Film Commission and James McKeigue of LatAm INVESTOR magazine on the rapidly developing Dominican film industry.

Daniel Peña from the Dominican General Customs Directorate then delivered a presentation on the Dominican Republic's role as a logistical hub in the Caribbean, and spoke further on the topic with Chris Bennett from the Caribbean Council.

Finally, Amauris Vásquez, President of the British Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic, delivered closing remarks summarising key insights from the day, and thanking all participants and attendees.
