  • Jeremy Browne

The Financial Times Political Editor joined Canning House to discuss the aftermath of the recent elections in the UK.

Financial Times Political Editor George Parker joined Canning House guests to share his analysis of the English local elections and parliamentary elections in Scotland and Wales. He was also talking on the eve of the King’s Speech in the House of Lords, which sets out the government’s legislative agenda.

As the discussion was taking place, the Prime Minister’s position was under threat. George Parker discussed possible scenarios for the Labour leadership.

There was also a wider discussion about British politics, recognising the dramatic realignment reflected in the recent elections. This included analysis from George Parker of the fortunes of Reform UK and the Conservatives.

The audience, which included many Ambassadors representing Latin American countries, appreciated hearing George Parker’s in-depth and insider insight at a tumultuous time in British politics.
