On Tuesday 10 April Canning House convened the annual UK-Latin America Tech Forum, sponsored by Redfern Legal and hosted and supported by Google.

In 2023, Canning House has continued on its unique mission to build understanding and relationships between the United Kingdom and Latin America and Iberia. Here, we take a look back at the year, as the organisation has continued to go from strength to strength in its dynamic programme.

Across our programme of events, covering topics including infrastructure, finance, technology, renewable energy, mining, agribusiness, elections and all things Latin America, we held a huge variety of conferences, seminars, briefings, lectures and other events in 2023. This time held at the University of Oxford's Blavatnik School of Government, the Conversa featured Rt Hon Sir Alok Sharma KCMG MP and a wide variety of senior, international academics, professionals and politicians from the UK, Brazil and beyond.

Eight decades on from the 9 November 1943, Canning House continues on its founding mission. It was a milestone for celebration, and reflection, marked with a reception at the Royal Institute of British Architects on 20 November.
That event featured a keynote speech by David Rutley MP, Minister for Americas and Caribbean; Nick McCall, Chairman of Canning House; Baroness Hooper, Honorary Vice President of Canning House; and Jeremy Browne, our CEO. See their speeches in full here.
This year, Canning House rolled out a new logo, reflecting the organisation's bold, forward-thinking approach to building UK-Latin American understanding and relationships, in its most significant brand refreshment in over 20 years.
The bright, modern office space, featuring an in-house events space that has already played host to many of the eminent figures mentioned above, sits in the heart of Westminster; just a short walk from the Houses of Parliament, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and other key government departments.
This year, Canning House has been delighted to welcome six new Corporate Members: Glencore, Haleon, Diageo, ERG International, BancTrust & Co. and PromPeru. Learn more about Corporate Membership here.
We have also been pleased to partner with organisations including JP Morgan, Google, the London Stock Exchange Group and the British Council.
Our flagship annual report looks ahead at Latin America's global, political, economic, social, environmental, risk and commercial outlooks over the next five years and beyond. Produced in partnership with Itaú, Ipsos, Control Risks, the Stockholm Environment Institute, the Department for Business and Trade and International Crisis Group.
