The 30th Ibero-American Summit: What’s Next for Europe & LatAm?

Drawing on his extensive experience in diplomacy and European politics, Mr José Ignacio Salafranca, Vice-President of Fundación Euroamérica, one of Spain’s leading institutions dedicated to strengthening political, economic and institutional ties between Europe and Latin America, will share his insights into the region’s geopolitical outlook, EU–Latin America relations, and the significance of the 30th Ibero-American Summit.

We are also honoured to welcome H.E. Emma Aparici, Spain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, who will open the roundtable with introductory remarks.

José Ignacio Salafranca is First Vice President of the Euroamérica Foundation and a former Member of the European Parliament, where he served for over two decades and led key EU-Latin America initiatives. He also served as European Union Ambassador to Argentina and was President of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EUROLAT).

INTRODUCTORY REMARKS

H.E Emma Aparici Vázquez de Parga has served as Spain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom since December 2025. Previously, she was Secretary General of Foreign Affairs in the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office and served in senior diplomatic roles at the Spanish Foreign Ministry, the United Nations, and Spain’s embassies abroad.
