Canning Paper Briefing: Mexico's New Political Reality

  • SCI Belgrave Square, 14/15 Belgrave Square, London

Canning House invites you to a briefing led by one of its corporate members, risk consultancy  Grupo Atalaya . The briefing coincides with the publication of a paper on the subject and will focus on the new political landscape that businesses and investors in Mexico will face in the run up to the 2018 presidential elections.

As the dust settles after Mexico´s mid-term elections in June, the country enters the second-half of President Enrique Peña Nieto´s administration. Mr. Peña Nieto recently made a major reshuffle in his cabinet, in order to face pending challenges in terms of economic growth and rule of law. Moreover the current administration is in the process of implementing a series of structural reforms, all of which must be carried out in the face of a highly dynamic political scenario.
