Book Discussion with Shafik Meghji and Laurence Blair

  • September

Canning House will be hosting a conversation between two authors who specialise in Latin America. They will be discussing their latest books.

BOOK DISCUSSION

Canning House is delighted to host two writers to discuss their latest books, which focus on the history of South America. The discussion will focus on their latest projects that shed light on the untold stories of this region.

Shafik Meghji is a journalist and travel writer who specialises in Latin America. His new book, Small Earthquakes: A Journey Through Lost British History in South America, uncovers the connection between the UK and South America through a blend of history, reportage, and travel writing.

He will be joined by Laurence Blair, an award-winning writer and journalist based in Paraguay. His latest work, Patria, tells an alternative history of South America through nine countries that can't be found on a map. As he travels to each, he unravels the untold history of the continent.

Join us to hear the inspiration behind these books, the characters that populate them, and the stories within them.

Attendance is by invitation only.
