An Evening of Discovery
Join us at the Maughan Library, King's College London, home of the Canning House Library Collection, as we relaunch one of the UK's largest collections of literature relating to Latin America.
The exhibition will include books, maps, illustrations, and manuscripts selected from the 54,000 items that make up the collection. Guests will be able to tour the library, accompanied by expert members of the KCL team, who will highlight the jewels of the collection and shed light on the ongoing efforts to preserve and digitise the books for future generations.
The evening will celebrate the deep and rich literary tradition between the UK and Latin America, and will offer unprecedented access to the collection.
About the Library
The Canning House Library collection was established in 1948, swiftly becoming a pre-eminent source of information about Latin America within the UK.
In 2012, the collection was transferred to King's College London, where it is now housed, preserved, and is being digitised.
