Ambassadorial Briefing: With UK Ambassadors to the Northern Triangle: Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador

Canning House is delighted to welcome Ambassadors to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, HE Thomas Carter, HE Carolyn Davidson  and HE Bernhard Garside  to give round-table briefings on their experiences since their recent appointments to their respective posts.

Canning House is delighted to welcome Ambassadors to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, HE Thomas Carter, HE Carolyn Davidson and HE Bernhard Garside to give round-table briefings on their experiences since their recent appointments to their respective posts. They will present the latest political, economic and business updates from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador and answer any questions that you may have in this closed round-table session.

Thomas Carter was appointed British Ambassador to Guatemala in 2015. Mr Carter joined the FCO in 1976 and most recently was responsible for the FCO’s global consular policy. Prior to that he worked on the London 2012 Olympic Games, after completing a four year posting as joint British High Commissioner to Zambia with his wife, Carolyn Davidson. He has had a variety of previous postings in the Americas, Asia, and Europe.

Carolyn Davidson was appointed British Ambassador (non-resident) to Honduras in 2015. Ms Davidson joined the FCO in 1986 and has served in Tokyo, Brussels, Bonn, Bangkok and Bratislava. She was joint British High Commissioner to Zambia, with her husband Tom Carter, from 2008 – 2012 and has most recently led work on international energy issues in the FCO.

Bernhard Garside took his appointment as British Ambassador to El Salvador in 2015. Mr Garside is a career diplomat who joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1983. Bernhard has had postings in Muscat (Oman), Dubai (UAE), Lagos (Nigeria), Havana (Cuba), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), and Khartoum (Sudan). His most recent posting was as Deputy Head of Mission in Algiers, Algeria.
