There can be no doubt that the UK remains committed to increasing its interaction with Latin America, however progress since the launching of the Canning Agenda in 2010 has not been as significant as might have been hoped. Latin America, itself, has a chequered history when it comes to alliances and integration, but there are signs that some of its efforts are beginning to bear fruit and that this could help the UK in its desire for greater engagement with the region.
