Canning House is pleased to announce the arrival of our new Chairman Dr Peter Collecott CMG. Previously British Ambassador in Brasilia, Dr Collecott has been an active member of the Canning House board for four years. He takes over from Dr John Hughes, whom has been Chairman since 2012.
Following his retirement from diplomatic service Dr Collecott acted as an adviser to major British multinationals with interests in Brazil, and as a Special Advisor to The Prince’s Charities’ International Sustainability Unit, where he was engaged on issues such as climate change, deforestation and global food, water and energy security. He also acts as an “independent” diplomat, and lectures on Brazil and the emerging world order, and on sustainable development issues.
