Peru under Kuczynski: Briefing with British Ambassador to Peru, Anwar Choudhury

Following the closest run presidential contest in Peru's history which saw Pedro Pablo Kuczynski of the Peruanos Por el Kambio party defeat Keiko Fujimori by 50,1%-49,9% - fewer than 40,000 votes, we are delighted to welcome British Ambassador to Peru, HE Anwar Choudhury, to give a briefing on the Peruvian political, economic and business milieu facing the new president.

Following the closest run presidential contest in Peru's history which saw Pedro Pablo Kuczynski of the Peruanos Por el Kambio party defeat Keiko Fujimori by 50,1%-49,9% - fewer than 40,000 votes, we are delighted to welcome British Ambassador to Peru, HE Anwar Choudhury, to give a briefing on the Peruvian political, economic and business milieu facing the new president.

Mr Choudhury took up his role in Lima in August 2014. He joined the FCO in 2003 having served in private sector, the Royal Air Force, the Ministry of Defence and the Cabinet Office as Director. He was appointed British High Commissioner to Bangladesh in 2004 where he served for four years, returning to the FCO in 2008 as Director International Institutions responsible for multilateral policy. Thereafter, he worked on initiatives to improve the FCO, where he was presented the Institute of Government award for ‘Inspiration in Government’ for his work on Diplomatic Excellence.
