The Canning Lecture

Since 1997, the Canning Lecture has been delivered by visiting Latin American and Iberian Presidents and Heads of Government. The Canning Lecture is one of the most high-profile events of its kind in the UK, providing a unique opportunity to hear from and engage directly with current Latin American and Iberian leaders.

This year, Canning House and the LSE joined forces to deliver Canning Lectures with Latin American leaders at the LSE

The Canning Medal

The work of Canning House in strengthening UK-Latin American relations continues to be of great importance. Although Canning House is not alone in the pursuit of this goal, it was felt that the Canning Medal, which was introduced in 2013, commemorating Canning House’s 70th anniversary, would raise the profile of its work. It is awarded to distinguished persons in recognition of their significant contributions to the strengthening of UK-Latin American relations.
