'Forgive the Unforgivable' with Claudia Palacios

  • SCI Belgrave Square, 14/15 Belgrave Square, London

Canning House is delighted to announce an event with Claudia Palacios, leading Colombian  journalist and current Director of the television news channel ‘Canal Capital’.

Canning House is delighted to announce an event with Claudia Palacios, leading Colombian journalist and current Director of the television news channel ‘Canal Capital’. Her 18 year career as a journalist has included roles at the ‘Caracol’ channel, as well as 10 years for CNN Español as a presenter, reporter and news director of various current affairs programmes.

In October 2015, she published her second book ‘Perdonar lo Imperdonable’ (Forgive the Unforgivable), a chronicle-styled book that reflects on the stories of the Colombian conflict from the perspectives of both the victims and the perpetrators, and how, through processes of solidarity, forgiveness and reconciliation, they have transformed this tragedy into an inspirational story. This publication earned her the Simón Bolivar Journalism Award in 2014 in the category of ‘Best Radio Interview’.

This event will take place less than two weeks after the Colombian government and the FARC rebels signed a peace accord after 52 years of conflict. In this context, the event takes on added significance. The Ambassador of Colombia to the UK, HE Néstor Osorio Londoño, will also give a statement on the signing of the accord.

PLEASE NOTE: *This event will be conducted in Spanish, although some of the Q&A can be taken in English. English translation will not be provided*
