Ambassador of Panama, H.E. Daniel Fábrega, speaks at Canning House on ‘Panama Papers’

Canning House had the honour of hosting H.E. Daniel Fábrega, Ambassador of Panama on 17th May, to convey the perspective of the Government of Panama in regards to the recent ‘Panama Papers’ publications.

The Panama Papers are a set of 11.5 million leaked documents detail that detail financial and attorney–client information for more than 214,000 offshore companies associated with the Panamanian law firm and corporate service provider, Mossack Fonseca.

In his speech the Ambassador focused on two areas: setting out the steps Panama has taken to support the international movement towards greater global tax transparency, and highlighting the dynamic and diversified economy that has flourished in this fast-growing Latin American trading hub.

Mr. Daniel Fábrega was appointed Ambassador of Panama to the United Kingdom in October 2014. Before his appointment as Ambassador, Mr. Fábrega has served as a Company Director and the Vice President for Exports for Varela Hemanos S.A., the producer of the internationally distributed Ron Abuelo rum brand.
